May 27, 28, and 29 in 2011

Beaver Valley May Days is being held May 27, 28 and 29 in 2011, and we are going to work hard to make it as big as 2010. Activities will take place throughout the Beaver Valley. Friday night the festivities begin at Haines Park with the Citizen of the Year Award, followed by a spectacular fireworks display after dark.

May Days Activities

Atco Forest Products train rides will be available for the ninth year. Reservations are recommended. Call Dyan at 250-367-9559. The route starts at the pole yard near the market and takes passengers on a 45-minute ride to the bridge overlooking Beaver Falls and back. Check out the large market while waiting to board the train! The May Days parade starts at 12:00 pm on Saturday. There are numerous children's activities including KSCU-sponsored three-on-three street hockey, Teck Trail Operations/FortisBC kids’ carnival/imagination station and a slo-pitch tournament. The Cal Ripken major ball tournament is played in McInnes Park. The Saturday night downtown event we’ve known as streetfest has been transformed into party-in-the-park in celebration of our centennial. We’ll have a gigantic 100th birthday cake sponsored by Falkins Insurance. Kids’ races, karaoke and lots of other exciting events are planned. Erin-o’s concession, Milano’s Pizza, Subway and the beaverian garden will be ready to serve you.

Beaver Valley May Days is organized entirely by volunteers who are dedicated to providing a fun weekend in the Beaver Valley as a thank you to the community for supporting volunteer groups throughout the year. All activities are priced on a cost-recovery basis with any revenues in excess of costs providing honourariums to non-profit volunteer groups that participate.
